Andrew Feldstein is BlueMountain’s Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer as well as the Chair of the Firm’s Management Committee and a member of the Investment and Risk Committees. Prior to co-founding BlueMountain in 2003, Mr. Feldstein spent over a decade at J.P. Morgan where he was a Managing Director and served as Head of Structured Credit; Head of High Yield Sales, Trading and Research; and Head of Global Credit Portfolio. Mr. Feldstein is a member of the board of directors of PNC Financial Services Group Inc. He is also a Trustee of Third Way, a public policy think tank; a Trustee of the Santa Fe Institute, an independent research and education center; and a member of the Harvard Law School Leadership Council. Mr. Feldstein earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Georgetown University.
Stephen Siderow is BlueMountain’s Co-Founder and Co-President. Mr. Siderow oversees the Firm’s business development and strategic initiatives and he is a member of the Firm’s Management, Compliance and Risk Committees. Prior to co-founding BlueMountain in 2003, Mr. Siderow was a Senior Consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he focused on the financial services industry, serving senior management executives and CEOs on business strategy, organization and operations issues. Prior to McKinsey, Mr. Siderow was a corporate attorney with Cleary Gottlieb. Mr. Siderow serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Birthright Israel Foundation, a program that provides the gift of first-time peer education trips to Israel for young Jewish adults. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Ars Nova, which provides training and development programs to young performing artists, and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute at Mt. Sinai Hospital, whose mission is to advance the field of palliative medicine through clinical, educational and research initiatives. Mr. Siderow earned a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, and a B.A., magna cum laude, in Philosophy, from Amherst College. Mr. Siderow was also a Fulbright and a Sheldon Scholar in Israel.

Michael Liberman is BlueMountain’s Co-President and Chief Operating Officer. He has led the development of the Firm’s Technology, Quant and Operational platforms and now oversees a number of BlueMountain’s business areas. Mr. Liberman is the Chairperson of the Firm’s Valuation Committee, and a member of the Management and Risk Committees. From 2012 through 2015 he was recognized by the Institutional Investor’s Trading Technology 40, an annual ranking of the field’s top innovators and visionaries. Prior to joining BlueMountain in 2004, he was a Managing Director and Head of Global Interest Rate Strats at Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for the quantitative strategies and systems for trading and risk management. Prior to Goldman, Mr. Liberman was at J.P. Morgan where he was most recently Head of Global Rates Derivatives Technology, and was a lead developer of derivatives risk management systems. Earlier in his career, Mr. Liberman developed database and telecommunication software in Silicon Valley. Mr. Liberman holds a B.A. with the highest honors in Mathematics and an M.A. in Mathematics from Brandeis University. Mr. Liberman also continued his graduate studies in Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley.

Scott Beardsley is BlueMountain’s Head of Treasury & Operations, responsible for the Firm’s Liquidity Management, Portfolio Finance, PnL, Valuations and Trade Support teams. Mr. Beardsley joined BlueMountain at inception in 2003. Mr. Beardsley is a member of the Firm’s Management, Valuation, and Compliance Committees. Externally, Mr. Beardsley is the firm representative on ISDA’s Industry Governance & Credit Steering Committees and is a member of MFA’s Derivatives & Swaps Committee. Previously, he was a Senior Associate in the Business Architecture group at Paloma Partners. Mr. Beardsley also worked for several years as an Associate Manager at GlobeOp Financial Services, the fund administration service provider. He earned an M.B.A. with Honors from Clarkson University and a B.S. in Finance and Economics from Castleton State College.
Co-CEO, Europe, Head of Client Advisory – Europe and Middle East, Partner
Louisa Church is BlueMountain’s Co-CEO of Europe and Head of Client Advisory – Europe, Middle East and Australia, and a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. Ms. Church has primary responsibility for covering UK, European, Middle Eastern and Australian institutional investors, consultants and HNW individuals and their advisors. She sources and develops new investors as well as maintains and extends our relationships with our current clients. Prior to joining BlueMountain, Ms. Church was responsible for business development at Odey, a UK Long/Short equity manager. She began her financial services career at Ferox, a convertible arb fund manager, where she served as a marketer. Ms. Church is a 2004 graduate of Edinburgh University, where she earned an M.A. in Art History.

Paul Friedman is BlueMountain’s General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer, and previously served as the Firm’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Friedman is a member of the Firm’s Management, Valuation, Compliance and Hiring Committees. Prior to joining BlueMountain in 2010, Mr. Friedman spent over 10 years as an attorney with Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco and Kenneth Cole Productions in New York. Mr. Friedman earned a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in Economics and Public Policy, summa cum laude, from Duke University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Noam Leslau is BlueMountain’s Head of Client Advisory – North America and Asia, and is a member of the Firm’s Management and Hiring Committees. Mr. Leslau has primary responsibility for the firm’s relationships with its institutional investors, consultants, and wealth management platforms. In this capacity, Mr. Leslau oversees the New York-based client advisory function and team. Mr. Leslau also spent four years in BlueMountain’s London office. Before joining BlueMountain in 2004, Mr. Leslau worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he advised senior client executives on corporate strategy, potential acquisitions, sales and marketing, operations and business development. Mr. Leslau earned an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and a B.A., summa cum laude, in History and Economics from Stanford University.

Marina Lutova Meyers is a Portfolio Manager responsible for BlueMountain’s Long/Short Credit North America and Index Arbitrage strategies. Ms. Meyers also oversees global trade execution, and is a member of the Firm’s Management, Investment and Hiring Committees. Ms. Meyers joined BlueMountain in 2007 from Bridgewater Associates, where she started as a Senior Investment Associate in the Portfolio Analytics Group, and later worked with the CEO in a management capacity in the Technology Group. Prior to Bridgewater, Ms. Meyers worked as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, focusing on the financial services industry (insurance and asset management). Ms. Meyers earned an M.B.A from Harvard Business School and an M.P.A in International Development from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She received her B.A. in Economics and Government, summa cum laude, from Franklin and Marshall College.

Charles Kobayashi is a Portfolio Manager responsible for BlueMountain’s CLO investments, and is a member of the Firm’s Management and Risk Committees. Prior to joining BlueMountain, Mr. Kobayashi was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Indosuez Capital with responsibility for managing $2.0 billion in leverage loan, CDO, and high yield assets. Before joining Indosuez Capital in 2001, Mr. Kobayashi managed $1.5 billion in proprietary capital of high yield bonds, leverage loans, structured notes, CDO, and distressed assets as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at ORIX USA Corp. He also worked at Bank of Tokyo Trust where he was involved in mergers and acquisitions and restructuring. Mr. Kobayashi earned an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University and a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Perry Vais is BlueMountain’s Head of Quantitative Strategies and a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. Mr. Vais oversees all systematic trading strategies, quantitative modeling, and technology at the firm. Prior to joining BlueMountain in 2006, Mr. Vais worked at DKR Oasis Capital Management developing trading analytics. Before DKR, Mr. Vais was a partner at Devix Group, LLC, a startup that developed business process management solutions for small and midsize e-commerce companies. Mr. Vais earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Binghamton University.

Omar Vaishnavi is a Portfolio Manager responsible for BlueMountain’s Distressed strategy, and is a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. Prior to joining BlueMountain in 2009, Mr. Vaishnavi was a distressed debt analyst at Silver Point Capital, with a focus on healthcare investments. Prior to Silver Point, Mr. Vaishnavi was an investment banking analyst at UBS. Mr. Vaishnavi is a member of the board of Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, where he has served since 2011. Mr. Vaishnavi earned a B.S. in Economics, with a concentration in Finance and Statistics, from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Amy Wierenga is BlueMountain’s Chief Risk Officer and is responsible for the Risk and Portfolio Construction team. Ms. Wierenga is also Chair of the Risk Committee and a member of the Firm’s Management and Valuation Committees. She joined BlueMountain in 2008 from Merrill Lynch, where she was responsible for market risk in the Global Rates and FX trading businesses. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Ms. Wierenga worked as a commissioned Bank Examiner and Market and Liquidity Risk Specialist for the Federal Reserve Bank. Ms. Wierenga received the Federal Reserve’s C.M.L. Bishop Award for Excellence and Outstanding Achievement in 2004. Ms. Wierenga earned an M.B.A in Analytic Finance, Econometrics and Statistics from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. She graduated with high honors from Butler University with Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Music.

David Zorub is a Portfolio Manager responsible for BlueMountain’s long/short equity strategy and fund, and a member of the Firm’s Management and Investment Committees. Mr. Zorub began his career as an investment banking analyst in the High Yield and Leveraged Finance group at Merrill Lynch & Co. Subsequently he was an Investment Associate at TPG Capital (formerly Texas Pacific Group), where he was based in London and focused on leveraged buyouts and growth equity investments in a number of industries including industrials, technology and consumer products. Mr. Zorub was also a founding employee of Finacity Corp., an accounts receivable optimization firm. Prior to joining BlueMountain in 2010 he was a founding employee, partner, and generalist research analyst at Hawkshaw Capital Management. Mr. Zorub graduated from Duke University magna cum laude with an AB in Economics and Medieval and Renaissance Studies. He subsequently earned his MBA in Finance from Columbia University, where he was a Beta Gamma Sigma Scholar.
Derek Smith is a Senior Advisor and Partner at BlueMountain. Prior to joining BlueMountain in 2008, Mr. Smith worked at Deutsche Bank where he was a Managing Director of Global Credit Trading, managing investment grade and high-yield credit cash and derivatives desks for U.S. and Europe. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Smith spent nearly 15 years working in various aspects of the fixed income, derivatives and credit markets at Goldman Sachs, managing the U.S. government options desk as well as the investment grade credit cash and derivative desks. Mr. Smith earned a B. S. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.
Mr. Gerstein is a Senior Advisor and Partner at BlueMountain. He is also a member of the Firm’s Valuation Committee and serves as a Director of several BlueMountain hedge funds. Since joining BlueMountain in 2004, Alan has held a number of key roles including CEO Europe and Senior Portfolio Manager overseeing Volatility and Fixed Income Arbitrage Strategies, and also managed the Risk Team. Prior to joining BlueMountain, Alan was a Vice President and Head of U.S. Investment Grade Credit Derivatives Trading at Goldman Sachs. Over a 10 year career at Goldman, Alan held several other senior positions including Head of U.S. Agency Bond Trading and in Interest Rate Derivatives Marketing. Prior to that, Alan was a Vice President of Interest Rate Derivatives Marketing at J.P. Morgan, where he worked with Andrew. Alan is a member of the MIT Corporation Development Committee and the Board of Trustees at Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, NY. Alan holds an M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management and B.S. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
